Guru Harkrishan Ji healer of sorrows, the eighth Sikh Guru inspired a legacy of compassion and service. In 1986, Sardar Avtar Singh Rawel founded the Guru Harkrishan Educational Society in Chandigarh to carry that spirit forward.
We open our doors to students of all faiths, castes, and creeds. Every scholarship is disbursed directly through the head of the institution, ensuring full transparency and zero misuse.

A Vision Born in 1986
In the spirit of Guru Harkrishan Ji's selfless service to humanity, Sardar Avtar Singh Rawel established GHES in 1986 with a singular vision: to ensure that financial hardship never stands between a student and their future.
Today, the society continues to honour that vision—maintaining complete transparency, processing every disbursement through the head of the institution, and upholding the founding principle that education belongs to every deserving mind, regardless of background.

Answers to help you understand how we work, support students, and partner with institutions.
Any student admitted to a recognised professional degree programme (Engineering, Medical, MBA, Law, etc.) in Chandigarh, Punjab , Haryana, Himachal Pradesh is eligible. We do not discriminate based on caste, creed, religion, or domicile. Selection is based on academic merit combined with financial need.
The committee evaluates each applicant's income certificate, fee receipts, and academic performance. Awards range from partial to full tuition coverage depending on the severity of financial need and availability of funds.
All disbursements are made directly to the head of the student's institution never to the student or family. This ensures complete transparency and that the scholarship is used only for educational expenses.
Yes. Corporate sponsors and individual donors may choose to fund one or more specific students. Donations above ₹500 are eligible for 80-G income tax deduction. Contact us for sponsorship packages.
